Public Transportation

Safe and efficient public transit is an essential part of a strong and connected community with a sustainable economy. Our ward needs reliable public transit to remain a great place to live and work.

15 Minute Communities:

Rather than living in a city strictly divided into areas for living, working, and recreation, let’s imagine vibrant communities where residents can fulfill their needs within 15 minutes of their homes by foot, by bike, or by public transportation. A return to local living can be achieved by expanding alternative travel options so that more residents can travel by bike or transit as an alternative to driving.

Transit Safety:

Some residents have expressed concern over their safety during their daily commute. Others have been hesitant to use our public transit due to feeling unsafe, particularly after dark. More Transit Peace Officers will be commissioned to protect the daily users of our transportation services so that they may travel safely and without fear.

Land Acknowledgement

I acknowledge the traditional land on which we reside, is in Treaty Six Territory. And I would like to thank the diverse Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors’ footsteps have marked this territory for centuries, such as Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, and Blackfoot.
I also recognize this as the Métis’ homeland and the home of one of the largest communities of Inuit south of the 60th parallel.
