Core Services

Edmontonians expect that the basic core services are delivered. Meeting those expectations has become challenging as our city grows. With our city welcoming a population the size of Red Deer over the past two years, the costs of providing those services have increased. During my first term on Council, we re-instated some of the funding in areas like public transit, snow removal and turf maintenance - funding that was reduced in prior years to keep property tax increases near zero.

We have seen the benefits of this spending with transit service, including On Demand, expanding in Ward Sspomitapi. And in those communities where ridership is up for On Demand service, we see new permanent bus routes being established.
